Solution
The modular construction method was selected due to the speed of the development and the nature of offsite manufacture.
Principal Contractor, Kier, selected Wernick Buildings to deliver the project due to their ability to deliver a high-quality solution that fitted in with the Council’s tight grant funding deadlines. Wernick offered the best solution and completed the project within 11 weeks.
The completed building is BREEAM Excellent. BREEAM rated developments are more sustainable environments that enhance the well-being of the people who live and work in them and help protect natural resources.
Following its completion, tenants were reportedly pleased with the buildings as they offer a modern, well laid out solution that meets their needs and requirements. Having been impressed with the service provided by Wernick Buildings, Somerset County Council have since engaged with Wernick to produce modular units for similar projects across Somerset.
The Wiveliscombe Enterprise Centre was one of several buildings delivered by Wernick and featured ten offices, two meeting rooms as well as toilet, shower, and kitchen areas.
Client Comment
I would definitely recommend a modular building to others looking for a space solution. The quick turnaround of the development fitted in with our tight grant funding deadlines for the project.
