Sustainable futures

Our commitment to deliver net zero by 2040 and additional social value outcomes demonstrate that we want to be credible and transparent in our approach to transition to a just and fair future. Our strategic ambition is underpinned by our various accreditations, membership of professional bodies and sustainable policies that we have successfully adopted, helping us to deliver our sustainable outcomes.

Accreditation

We take environmental matters seriously. To ensure adherence to high standards, we have established quality and environmental management systems that are certified by an accredited body to the international standards ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015. This includes Wernick Buildings, Wernick Power Solutions and Wernick Hire (due October 2023).

Under these accredited procedures, we identify, assess and address environmental impacts across all aspects of our operations.

Health and safety

The Wernick Group has a comprehensive health and safety management system based on the principle of  ‘Plan> Do> Check> Act’ to achieve continuous improvement.

  • Hazards and risks are assessed and controlled in line with the hierarchy of control and to comply with current health and safety legislation
  • We aim to continuously reduce accidents and incidents and promote safe and healthy workplace environments across all business units

We recruit and retain high calibre staff who have many years experience in providing portable and modular buildings. All employees involved in site work hold CSCS cards in the relevant categories.

To ensure that employees are able to always undertake tasks effectively and safely, we invests significantly in the appropriate training.

All staff undergo extensive safety courses relevant to the requirements of their roles within the Company. These are in most cases supervised by independent expert training organisations.
