Wildgoose Rural Training

Requirement

Wildgoose offer people from all ages, backgrounds and abilities the opportunity to learn about and experience rural life.

Students with special needs or learning disabilities access the centre as well as young people who find the standard school curriculum difficult to engage with.

In 2018 the charity set up a new ‘care farm’ (a farming environment for training and therapy). They required a new building to serve as its hub.

The client needed a space resistant to the great British weather. They specified a large, open space with quality finishes.

The budget came from grants and loans and the client had to be mindful of every penny spent.

Solution

The client contacted four suppliers, including Wernick Refurbished Buildings. They visited a depot, met the team and felt a “good vibe”.

They felt from the meeting that the team “wanted to do the best job they could do for us”.

They were also impressed by the quality of building available for their budget.

Installation of the modules took a day, and adding the hard-wearing lino and finishes took a further two weeks.

The resulting 250m2 building is robust, weather-tight and spacious. The client has the option to keep the building permanently in situ or to relocate it if needed.

The people at Wernick stood out for us. Their evident willingness to come up with the right solution at an affordable cost were a key influence in making our decision. We found them easy to work with and keen to do the best job. The installation was straightforward and so much was achieved in a relatively short space of time.
