Due to the ongoing development of the hospital’s emergency department, Blackpool Hospital sought to relocate their mental health care facilities. The ongoing situation with Covid-19 meant that the client also required additional space to accommodate the public health measures implemented.
Blackpool Hospital needed a high-quality building that could be installed within a short period of time.
The refurbished modular building method was chosen largely due to its ability to meet the challenging timescale.
The project was acquired through a tender and the proposal from Wernick Refurbished Buildings was accepted based on the fact they could deliver the building quickly and efficiently which gave them a competitive edge.
In addition, an on-site visit was made by the client who was impressed with the high standard of modules available at Wernick Refurbished Buildings.
The building is also to be used as a base for the Occupational Therapies team.
Roger Smith, Project Manager for NHS Foundation Trust, commented: “It was definitely a race against time as we needed the building urgently. So, it was quite an achievement for the Refurbished Building’s team to hit the agreed timeframe, and we are very impressed with the results. The current users are delighted with the space. We would definitely recommend Wernick Refurbished Buildings, they understood our requirements and performed in a very professional manner despite the challenging timescale.”
