The National Game Fair

The annual CLA Game Fair was the UK’s largest gathering for people who have a passion for countryside pursuits. The 3 day event celebrated the British Summer in all its glory, with clay shooting, archery, international championships of fishing, ferretting and falconry and artisan food and drink from across the UK.
So when the CLA Game Fair was cancelled in 2015 after 58 years, the Game Fair community was understandably upset. Among those sad to see the event ending were the Wernick team, who had been supplying the Fair with cabins, toilets and showers for over 10 years.
Thankfully, new management was secured, and the event launched in 2016 as The Game Fair, looking to come back bigger and better than ever. Liz Haynes, Head of Operations, explained; “We were launching in 2016 as a new event; so we had a lot to prove to the exhibitors, visitors and the Game Fair community in our first year.”
Wernick were asked to continue their relationship with the Game Fair thanks to the excellent service they had delivered in previous years. Liz told us; “We’ve been working with Wernick for over 10 years, and we’re pleased to say we have close relationship between our two teams. We love working with Wernick, as we always know exactly what we get.”
Wernick were keen to support the launch of the Game Fair, however, when the request for cabins came, the stock the Game Fair wanted had already been booked to other events – meaning the units would have to be brought on site much later than usual. Whilst the cabins were installed over a number of weeks, the toilets and showers were brought on site and prepared in under a week. This gave the Events team just 4 days to install 24 ladies toilets, 20 male toilets and 17 showers! Wernick were more than up for the challenge, and through working closely with the Game Fair team, had all the units installed and prepared ready for the start of the show.
Liz and her team were clearly pleased to have the Wernick team back on board; “Wernick really supported us in making our return.
