Requirement

GRAHAM required a large-scale accommodation complex to support the delivery of the Stratford Mills development in East London. With more than 300 operatives working on site, the project demanded a comprehensive welfare and office solution capable of supporting both the main contractor and its supply chain throughout the construction programme.

The accommodation needed to provide dedicated office space, welfare facilities, changing areas, and catering provision, while also ensuring an inclusive environment for the entire workforce. As a long-standing customer, GRAHAM turned to Wernick Hire to deliver a fire-rated modular solution tailored to the project’s specific requirements.

Solution

Wernick Hire supplied a triple-storey FMflex complex, comprising 15 five-bay modules configured to create a modern and highly functional site compound.

The accommodation was designed around the client’s operational requirements, with:

Top floor: GRAHAM offices and a dedicated management canteen
Middle floor: Office space for subcontractors and supply chain partners, alongside a large canteen for site operatives
Ground floor: Toilet facilities, shower units, multi-faith changing rooms, and dedicated female welfare facilities

The layout ensured efficient movement between departments while providing high-quality welfare facilities for the workforce. All units were supplied to the client’s specification, with the accommodation delivered in new condition and tailored to suit the demands of a busy city-centre construction project.

As part of the wider package, Wernick Hire also delivered Fire Alarm Systems and Emergency Lighting through its Wernick Hire Total offering, providing a complete and compliant site accommodation solution from a single supplier.

Throughout the project, Wernick worked closely with GRAHAM to accommodate changing requirements, ensuring any adaptations were implemented quickly and efficiently to keep the project running smoothly.
