Anderson Group

Requirement

The client and WRB had worked together on a previous project in Erith, Kent on one of the Anderson Group’s previous projects.

The client utilises modular buildings for long-term construction projects. This time they required a building for one of their own projects to house office and construction staff.

The structure needed to be less expensive than a traditional building, easier and quicker to build and they only need the building to be in place for five years.

The client specified a multi-purpose space; to provide office and meeting areas for 16 members of staff and welfare facilities for 70 to 80 workers.

As well as a canteen, toilets and changing area, the client also required a first aid room and a PPE room.

  • Project name: Former Oare Gravel Works
  • Sector: Construction
  • Location: Faversham, Kent
  • Client name: Anderson Group
  • Supplied by: Wernick Refurbished Buildings
  • Accommodation type: 2-storey refurbished modular building
  • Size: 16 modules (8 on 8)
  • Features: First aid room, PPE room, offices, welfare area

Solution

Wernick Refurbished Buildings offered a building utilising two model types from stock. The modules were refurbished to a high standard and re-configured to the client’s requirements.

The first aid and PPE areas, although not a usual requirement for a welfare building, were easily accommodated.

The building can be relocated or reconfigured at the end of the five years, making further savings for the client.

Relocating the building will also have a significantly lower impact on the environment compared to constructing a new building using traditional methods.

We are very happy with the building. We were able to get the space we needed within a reasonable budget. And, if we have any issues at all, someone comes out and rectifies it straight away.
