Wernick Director Takes on Ultra Marathon Challenge for Devon Air Ambulance
This year Managing Director of Wernick Construction, Ben Wernick, is running more than 150 miles over three separate ultra-marathons to raise money for Devon Air Ambulance.
The first of these races, a 70K ultra run along the Taff Trail from Brecon to Cardiff, will take place on the 11th February. Following that, Ben will complete a 32 mile run from Cardiff to Ogmore-by-Sea on the 5th April, and will culminate his marathon fundraising with a mind boggling 100 mile race along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. The trail is widely regarded as the most beautiful coastline in Britain, and spending 24 hours running non-stop, Ben will have plenty of time to take in the sites on the path from Dale to St Dogmaels!
In total, Ben will run 182 miles- an almost superhuman feat!
Ben has chosen to raise money for Devon Air Ambulance, a worthy charity that provides immediate medical treatment to those in hard to access geographical locations from aircraft able to land on a space no larger than a postage stamp.
The charity is particularly close to Ben’s heart, after he witnessed first-hand the amazing work the Devon Air Ambulance do, when his 16 month old son needed urgent medical attention whilst on holiday in Cornwall.

We wish Ben the best of luck with his fundraising efforts, and will be cheering him on as he takes on his ultra-marathon challenge.
