During a major refurbishment of their permanent Plymouth branch, Jewson required a temporary trading space that would allow them to continue serving customers on-site without interruption. The setup needed to include areas for office operations, customer-facing retail, staff welfare, and stock storage all within a compact footprint.
GR Group, managing the project, sought a solution that could be delivered quickly and tailored to suit a retail environment, rather than standard construction site accommodation.

Solution
Wernick Hire supplied a flexible six-unit accommodation setup, configured to create a fully operational temporary branch for Jewson.

The stacked 24ft units were adapted for use as customer-facing retail space and branch offices, with the internal fit-out accommodating product displays, counters, and point-of-sale areas.

A 32ft store was used for bulk materials and secure storage, while a 2+1 toilet unit provided welfare facilities for staff.

The layout was designed to optimise access and movement within the limited site footprint, supporting both operational needs and customer flow.
The Wernick Hire team worked closely with GR Group and Jewson to ensure the temporary branch was delivered on time and ready to open to customers with minimal disruption. The Plymouth depot also remained on-hand to provide support throughout the hire.
