Trainee Yard Operative Programme
This programme offers the opportunity for individuals to develop their skills to work as a Yard Operative at one of our hire depots.
A fantastic opportunity
This trainee programme is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills to work as a Yard Operative in one of our Wernick Hire depots. This is an 18-month long hands-on training programme where you work alongside a mentor and learn every aspect of the role.
Trainees will gain experience in becoming a Yard Operative and after the programme is completed, they will be a fully qualified multi-skilled Yard Operative.
Part of the programme
As part of this programme, the trainee and their mentor will be given workbooks which will be completed and signed throughout the training process. This will build up the trainee’s portfolio which includes Level 1 Health & Safety and Working at height training.
The trainee will need to complete different modules and undertake external courses; this includes working with specialist equipment and obtaining a CSCS Operatives card. All tasks, tests and evidence will be collected throughout the programme.
Trainees will have quarterly reviews with the depot manager to discuss their progress and to set goals and targets for the upcoming quarter.
Once this programme has been completed, the trainee will receive a final certificate and the Wernick Hire depot will receive a plaque in acknowledgement of their participation.
