Graduate Training Programme
The Graduate Training Programme gives the successful candidates a fantastic opportunity to learn every aspect of our business.
There will be extensive training in all areas and the Graduate Management Trainees will spend time in the depots as well as out on the road, shadowing a Depot Managers and deputising in their absence, spending time in field sales, the drawing office, the factory and estimating departments as well as various others.
The Programme will give the successful candidates ample opportunity to develop and grow in our business and achieve considerable career progression within the Wernick Group.
The Programme will consist of the following:
Wernick Hire (1 year)
Based at one of our larger depots you will learn all aspects of the hire desk, shadowing the Depot Manager and you will be mentored by our MD, meeting with him for review once a quarter.
You will spend time in field sales learning about our products and key customers.
Wernick Buildings (6 months)
For this part of the Programme you would be based at our factory in South Wales. The Programme whilst at the factory will consist of the following:
Week 1 induction
Weeks 2-7 working on shop floor
Weeks 8-11 Scheduling department
Weeks 12-15 Technical department
Weeks 16-26 Sales and Estimating
Again, you will be mentored by the MD and will meet for review once a quarter.
Wernick Construction (6 months)
The location of this part of the Programme will be dependent on the contracts in hand at the time, however primarily you will be based out of one of our divisional sales offices (Plymouth, Kenfig, Aldridge, Wickford or Glasgow). You will spend 6 months* on site shadowing a Contracts Manager or Site Supervisor and be mentored by the MD.
Following the successful completion of the Programme, the individual would be permanently placed in one of the 5 Group Companies.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for graduates with confidence and drive as well as the motivation to succeed. You will have fantastic verbal and written communication skills as well as good commercial acumen.
The successful graduates will have complete geographical flexibility for the both the entirety of the Programme and following completion as they could be permanently placed at any of our depots across the UK.
The minimum requirements would be a 2:2 in a construction or business related degree along with some relevant work experience. You will also need to be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills. The successful candidates will need a willingness to learn new skills and have the hunger and determination to develop a career at management level within a thriving and successful company.
A full UK Driving Licence will be required as regular travel will be involved.
