Wernick Hire win Environmental Award for Water-Saving Innovation
Recently, our team attended the Kier Supply Chain Awards night, and we are proud to announce that we won an Environmental award. This recognition reflects the success of an innovative project led by our Widnes depot.
Kier’s goal was to implement water-saving measures on their construction sites through water harvesting. Dean Sharples, Works Manager, and Joanne Elwell, General Manager, met with Simon Kelly from Kier and Ian Green from Wysepower to explore the possibility of incorporating Wysepower’s recycling system into our existing facilities.
Our task was to modify the plumbing within our toilet blocks to work seamlessly with Wysepower’s recycling system. The heart of our sustainable solution lies in the recycling system’s ability to repurpose greywater, reducing water wastage.
The award was well deserved for great collaboration between Wernick Hire and Wysepower working with us to do the greywater trials.
Our dedicated team is shaping a future where environmentally responsible practices become the industry standard. This recognition reinforces our commitment to environmental responsibility and brings us one step closer to our collective goal of achieving net zero.
