Requirement
Rossington All Saints Academy is a secondary school in South Yorkshire, England. Following substantial housing development in the area, pupil numbers had increased by approximately 220, creating a need for an updated kitchen and student dining hall.
Through discussions with Rossington All Saints Academy and Doncaster Council, it was determined that a modular hall and kitchen would provide the most effective solution.
After the Council’s tender process, Wernick Refurbished Buildings was appointed to deliver a full turnkey package including groundworks. Having successfully delivered previous projects for Doncaster Council, the appointment reflected the Council’s confidence in Wernick’s ability to deliver the new facility.

Solution
Wernick Refurbished Buildings delivered a refurbished modular dining hall and commercial kitchen to provide a modern dining environment for approximately 450 students.
The project was delivered within a three-month programme on site from the start of groundworks to building installation and handover. To meet the school’s programme requirements, manufacture commenced while planning permission was progressing, allowing delivery to take place during half-term.
Several challenges had to be overcome, including installing a new electricity cable from the local substation and delivering large modular units through the school grounds. Careful planning and collaboration enabled these challenges to be successfully resolved.
The dining hall was designed with sound-absorbing floor and ceiling finishes to create a comfortable environment for students.
The completed building is now fully operational and has provided Rossington All Saints Academy with a high-quality catering and dining facility that will support the school’s growing population.
The modular dining hall and kitchen are now fully operational, and the school is delighted with the finished facility. The new building has provided a modern, high-quality dining environment for pupils while also creating additional teaching space within the main school building.
