Wernick Hire supports Hilltop SEND School
The Great Yorkshire Build brought together supporters, partners and members of the local community to celebrate the £3 million transformation at Hilltop SEND School in Rotherham.
In partnership with GMI Construction, Wernick Hire provided temporary welfare facilities throughout the build process, as well as a donating a unit to another partner, Triton Construction that will remain at the school once the project is complete. Our supply chain partners Universal Tankers and D.Cain & Son Hauliers kindly provided ongoing welfare provision and transport for the project duration.
When combined, the donations have generated £10k+ of social value for the school project. Wernick’s contribution has provided essential welfare facilities and secure on-site storage, helping to support a workforce of more than 20 people throughout the construction process.
The urgent need for transformation at Hilltop School was highlighted on the BBC’s SEND Help, highlighting the positive impact of the project and the support provided to pupils at the school. The redevelopment marks the beginning of a much-needed transformation that will improve the lives of 180 children with complex learning needs and create a lasting legacy for future generations of pupils. The project also demonstrates the value of community engagement by strengthening community ties and support networks, while partnerships and collaboration have helped to strengthen local networks and create opportunities for resource sharing.
