Wernick supports Young Bristol youth centre with community-led refurbishment project

12th January 2026

Wernick is proud to have supported a local youth and community centre operated by Young Bristol, helping to improve facilities for young people through a collaborative refurbishment project in Bristol.

Working alongside Concrete Repairs and CD Transport, the project focused on upgrading essential areas of the site to create a safer, more functional space for day-to-day use. The works included a full renovation of the centre’s storage facilities, repairs to fencing, the installation of a new secure gate, and a programme of general maintenance and repairs. All areas have now been fully repainted, significantly improving both appearance and usability.

The total value of works delivered was £5,500, covering labour, materials, and specialist time. The project came about through a personal connection within the Concrete Repairs team, reinforcing the role that local relationships can play in delivering meaningful community impact.

Beyond the immediate improvements, the refurbishment has been designed with long-term social value in mind. Plans are already in place for local artists and young people to transform the newly refreshed external walls with artwork and graffiti, helping to create a space that reflects the community it serves.

By refurbishing and repairing existing facilities rather than replacing them, the project also supports a more sustainable approach — extending the life of the centre’s assets while reducing material waste.

This collaboration demonstrates how contractors and suppliers can work together to deliver lasting benefits for local communities, creating spaces that are safer, more engaging, and better suited to supporting young people across Bristol.
