Rosecliffe Spencer Academy
Requirement
Morgan Sindall Construction was appointed by Arc Partnership on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver a permanent teaching facility at Rosecliffe Spencer Academy, previously known as Sharphill Primary School, which is part of the Spencer Academies Trust.
The project was procured through the four-year Scape Regional Construction Framework (RCF). Following contract requirements, a temporary teaching facility was needed for the September term as works on the permanent building were underway.
Morgan Sindall Construction required a temporary modular building that would house nursery and junior teaching facilities as well as admin offices in time for the new term. Therefore, it was imperative that the construction process would be able to conform to a tight deadline.
The temporary classrooms and admin block were required for hire over the Autumn and Winter school terms.

Solution
Through their pre-existing relationship with Morgan Sindall Construction, with whom they had worked with on a number of school projects, Wernick Hire was chosen due to their ability to meet the challenging timescale as well as their provision of high-quality products.
Following the outbreak of Covid-19, the already limited timescale was put under further pressure. Despite this, Wernick Hire provided an open-plan nursery, three standard classrooms for the Key Stage 1 and 2 age-group and an eight bay, two-storey admin block in time for the September term.
Additionally, low level windows with restrictors were fitted to the building to create a child-friendly environment.
The temporary facilities were delivered in line with ARC/Spencer Academies requirements.
Following the end of the hire, the temporary modular classrooms will be relocated and will be used by Ravensdale School.
The outcome of the project was better than we expected, the children and the staff are happy with their new facilities. The end result is positive.
