Farrans Construction at Gull Wing Bridge

Gull Wing Bridge

Challenge

Farrans Construction was tasked with building the Gull Wing Bridge in Lake Lothing, Lowestoft to reduce traffic congestion in the town. The project was set to last for 106 weeks, and the client required quality on-site accommodation for their staff. They needed flexible open-plan spaces that included offices, a canteen, meeting rooms, training rooms, toilets, and changing rooms.

  • Project name: Lake Lothing Third Crossing
  • Sector: Construction
  • Location: Lowestoft, Suffolk
  • Client name: Farrans Construction
  • Supplied by: Wernick Hire and Wernick Power Solutions
  • Accommodation type: GreenSpace® AVflex, 2x 200kVA generators and 3000L fuel tank

Solution

Wernick Hire, a company that provides high-quality modular buildings and ancillary services, was chosen to provide the required accommodation for Farrans Construction. They supplied GreenSpace® AVflex cabins, which are environmentally friendly and have energy-saving features suitable for long-term hire. These cabins have security features that make them ideal for busy construction sites.

Wernick Power Solutions, a sister company of Wernick Hire, provided power for the entire site with two 200kVA generators and a 3000L fuel tank. The client also requested a canopy to shelter the generators and fuel tank from the weather.

The AVflex cabins were painted yellow and had signs displaying Farrans Construction’s brand image on the outside.
