Catcote School

School Over the Moon

When Hartlepool Borough Council invited tenders for a six room building at Catcote School, they were hoping to agree prices rapidly and have a new building operational within six weeks. At the time this was a very tight timescale as the industry in general was working flat-out and none of the companies that tendered could complete the project in this time scale.

Fortunately Wernick Hire had a 24 bay pre-owned modular building in stock and our Stockton on Tees Depot submitted plans, photographs and costs for a fully refurbished building that could be supplied on time using these units.

Wernick received an official order from the Education Authority on a Wednesday, the foundation work was commenced on the Friday, and the building was delivered on the following Monday! The client was, not surprisingly, over the moon.

The four week refurbishment programme, completed on site, included completely relining all the internal walls, total repainting inside and outside, re-wiring and re-carpeting throughout and fitting emergency lighting. The package also included foundations, drainage, ramps and steps. The as-new accommodation comprises four, 56 square metre classrooms, a store room, an IT area, dining room, staff room and reception area.
