Solution

Wernick Buildings emerged as the best fit for the value, budget, and time factors. As a leading provider of modular solutions, Wernick Buildings offered the expertise and experience necessary to deliver a bespoke office building that met Forest Research’s specific requirements.

A key element of the project was the use of sustainably sourced timber. As part of Wernick Buildings commitment to be Net Zero by 2040, all timber used in our controlled construction process was PFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified and compliant. This commitment helped preserve natural resources and promote sustainable forestry practices.

The modular office building provided by Wernick Buildings included an extensive interior fit-out tailored to Forest Research’s needs. The space was designed to accommodate various functions, such as office spaces, meeting rooms, breakout areas, kitchen areas, and changing facilities.

The building’s exterior is complete with a bespoke external spiral staircase, timber cladding on the first floor, and rain screen cladding on the ground floor.

Wernick Buildings Divisional Manager Douglas Brown commented, “The sustainable advantages offered with modular buildings was a perfect match for the Forest Research Centre. We are very proud of the outcome and the building is a real show piece for us in Scotland.”
