Canary Wharf Contractors project at Wood Wharf

Requirement

In 2017, a three-storey building made up of 24 modules was delivered to Canary Wharf Contractors by Wernick AVDanzer. Their on-site staff use this building for offices and a welfare facility. They now need this building to be relocated as it is in the way of a further development.

The plan for Wood Wharf, who is Canary Wharf’s neighbour is to develop up to 3,600 new homes, office space, shops, restaurants and public areas such as squares and parks. This means they need welfare units for their on-site team who are aiding them in the development of the project. They also need offices for their on-site office team who oversee the project.

Many of the site personnel were working from a barge in the canal basin where the new development is to commence. Because of this, they needed to move out of the barge and into a new building.

Solution

With a working relationship of over 15 years, AVDanzer perfectly understands the procedures required for delivering to Canary Wharf Contractors’ portable building needs.

Due to the on-site personnel expanding, they needed an extra building to work as offices and welfare. Wernick AVDanzer was able to supply them with a two-storey building consisting of 16 modules.

The building is fitted out with double-glazed windows, motion sensor LED lighting with heating and air conditioning throughout. To match Canary Wharf Constructions brand colours, the exterior of the building is painted beige.

The relocation of the existing building only had two days to be completed as there was a half marathon in London meaning the road had to be reopened. This meant there were tight deadlines which had to be met but Wernick AVDanzer were able to meet this.
