The Yard Foreman is responsible for processing instructions received from the hire office as requested, ensuring quality, safety, security, and minimising wastage. To be successful in this role you will need to have experience in plumbing, joinery and electrical work, it would be a massive advantage if you are able to weld. You will have excellent time management skills, with the ability to juggle a busy workload and remain calm under pressure. Being an enthusiastic team player with a commitment to offering first-class customer service is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure security of workshop, hire yard and stock
  • Periodically carry out safety checks on lifting jacks, steps and ladders
  • Ensure effective working of all yard staff
  • Liaise with Depot Manager on work in progress to ensure orders are completed on time
  • Inspect cabins/buildings prior to delivery to ensure quality of workmanship
  • Inspect cabins/buildings on return to depot and report damages or items missing
  • Minimise material wastage
  • Ensure safe loading and unloading of cabins/buildings and materials
  • Maintain record of cabin/building door keys
  • Ensure workshop and yard are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in plumbing, joinery and electrical work
  • Able to weld would be an advantage
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise busy workload
