Wernick Power Solutions is the newest company to be opened under the Wernick Group umbrella that has been successfully running for over 80 years. With this exciting new addition, we are looking for a Hire Controller to join our busy Hire desk in Avonmouth.

The purpose of the role will be to operate within the Hire Desk and Outbound Sales team for Wernick Power Solutions, meeting customer service and outbound sales objectives, owning the customer experience internally and externally, maximising the effective use of systems, assets and personnel to achieve or exceed budgeted income and profit, while managing all safety, health, environmental, quality, personnel and regulatory matters in accordance with company policies.

The person we are looking for will have a varied job role and will support the financial performance, so we are looking for a great all-round person who excels in their customer service standards and is not scared of utilising any opportunities that come along to convert them in to a sale.

There is some administration involved, working on our in-house computer systems as well as the normal email and intranet. The role can be quite technical so the ability to gather the correct information is essential.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge


  • Strong organising, administration and communication skills
  • Customer-facing experience in a service-related industry
  • Literate, numerate and IT – literate (keyboard, data input and interpretation, basic use of Word, Excel, e-mail and internet)
  • Must have the ability to design/specify a power solution to meet the customers’ needs


  • Technical, Supervisory or Sales experience in the power generation, general tool or plant hire industry
  • Knowledge, aptitude or visible interest in machines/electrics/industrial equipment
  • Evidence of commercial awareness and achievement of financial targets
  • Knowledge of power generation equipment and applications
  • Certificated competence of IT literacy, e.g. MCS, MS Word or Excel
  • Certified competence in sales, commercial and/or business subjects
