Wernick Buildings to attend Education Buildings Scotland Exhibition
The inaugural Education Buildings Scotland Exhibition & Conference will bring Scottish education built environment and policy professionals together from early years, schools, colleges and universities for two days under one roof.
Wernick Buildings’ Scottish division will be exhibiting a new example design for Scottish nurseries, based on the ‘Space to Grow’ guidance document published by the Scottish Government earlier this year. The design is based on principals such as ensuring an abundance of natural light, providing easy access to outdoor play areas and creating varied environments for children to explore.
Divisional Manager Chris Hart commented “At the moment we’re seeing a real focus on childcare in Scotland, and part of that is ensuring the facilities are in place for childcare providers to deliver a good service. We understand the pressure this sector is under at present and believe that offsite construction has a big role to play in providing suitable facilities.”
Some of the advantages of offsite construction are documented in the Scottish Governments ‘Space to Grow’ guidance document. They include shorter build times, better quality control and reduced waste of modular buildings compared to traditional construction methods.
The Wernick team can be found on stand D16, where delegates will have the chance to win £200 of John Lewis vouchers.
Education Buildings Scotland takes place from the 21st to the 22nd of November in the EICC.
