Wernick Group recognised on list of 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain
The 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain list represents an annual celebration of some of the most dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises in the country and Wernick are extremely proud to be named as one of the 1000 this year. To be included in the list, Wernick had to show consistent revenue growth over the past 4 years, and significantly out-perform any competitors in its field.
Wernick Group were selected for this annual recognition by London Stock Exchange Group; with those making the list described as “the engine of the UK economy” by the Group’s CEO Xavier Rolet. Writing in the publication, Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne said: “UK high-growth businesses are leading the charge in rebuilding our economy. These companies are the backbone of the British economy. They create high-quality, well-paid jobs, innovate and drive economic growth.”
From humble beginnings selling poultry crates in 1934, Wernick has grown to become one of the UK’s leading modular building and portable accommodation specialists. The past years have seen Wernick grow steadily, performing strongly in the modular buildings sector. In the last year alone expansions have increased apace thanks to organic growth and shrewd acquisitions. Wernick’s main manufacturing site has moved to Kenfig, South Wales with the aim of doubling output, and Wernick Refurbished Buildings have re-located to a site five times larger in order to expand.
David Wernick, Wernick Group Chairman stated; “Our ambition at Wernick has always been to be the best business in our sector, and it’s very rewarding to know that the hard work we’ve done over the last few years was recognized by an organization like the London Stock Exchange Group. We must now strive to ensure we are similarly productive in 2016.”
