Six reasons to choose a refurbished modular building
By Callum Davies, Head of Sales at Wernick Refurbished Buildings
At Wernick Refurbished Buildings (WRB), we pride ourselves on our ‘as new’ approach to delivering fully refurbished buildings nationwide.
We recently sat down together to name all the reasons why a refurbished building could be the right choice for your next project.
With the list ever growing, our expert team have narrowed it down to six reasons for you to consider.
1. Bespoke to your requirements
Our approach to refurbishment provides our clients with the opportunity to make the space they require fully bespoke to their requirements. Anything is possible!
External finishes, window styles, colours and internal layout are just some of the many things that can be discussed with our sales team before being visually brought to life by our in-house drawings team.
This has been taken one step further with the recent introduction of our new showroom, which shows our customers a selection of the specifications available under one roof.
We can then show you around our industry-leading factory where you’ll have the opportunity to inspect projects we are currently working on.
Freedom to customise their buildings was one of the reasons DB Cargo chose WRB – which Marc Binney, Head of Operations explains in this video.
2. As good as new
All our buildings are taken back to their steel frames under controlled conditions before our experienced production team introduce all new components.
This means that, excluding the recycled steel frame, all the materials used to create the space you require are brand new and come fully tested and certified.
This ‘as new’ approach to refurbishment means our clients receive an entirely new building both internally and externally, while benefiting from the cost savings associated with using quality existing steel frames. For peace of mind, these are provided with a ten-year warranty under common law.
As we know exactly what goes into all our buildings, we ensure compliance with the latest building regulations.

5. A more sustainable choice
By repurposing preowned buildings instead of scrapping them, we save 2,400 tonnes of waste from going to landfill every year.
Environmental awareness is promoted within the business, with working practices aimed at reducing waste and energy consumption both on site and in our factory.
As much as 90% of the work can be done at our factory. By refurbishing the units at the depot, our carbon footprint is reduced, noise and vehicle pollution is limited, and the units are built in a safe and controlled manner.
We are proud to operate on a zero to landfill basis and work closely with our waste services providers to ensure best practices are achieved and maintained.
The Wernick Group has an ongoing commitment to the management and reduction of its carbon emissions and recently announced a strategy to become a carbon net zero company by 2040.

6. Reduced Costs
Reduced costs without compromising on quality.
Refurbished buildings can be a cost-effective solution compared to new manufactured buildings.
At Wernick Refurbished Buildings, we want to do all that we can to be a part of your upcoming project and will work hard to meet your budget requirements.
“A premium product for our budget, we have been really impressed with the spec of the building.”
Toby Gunn, Universal Tanker Group – Managing Director
“It has been great value for money, and we’ve had terrific assistance along the way, all our queries were answered quickly and efficiently. We absolutely love the building, we’re very happy with it.”
John Vanderpump – King’s Somborne Parish Council
“The speed at which it was built offsite and assembled was impressive. The original internal and external design has met all expectations and both staff and students are extremely happy.”
