BSI Video Filmed at Wernick Factory Puts Offsite in the Spotlight
A new video from the BSI (the British Standards Institute) – ‘How offsite construction can transform your business’ shows what can be achieved with modular construction and highlights the advantages of building ‘offsite’.
And it was put together with the help of the team at Wernick Buildings.
The BSI filmography team visited the factory in Kenfig, getting a real glimpse of what goes on ‘behind the scenes’ of the modular industry. Cutting, measuring, lifting and drawing were captured in the Factory and Estimating areas, before the team headed to the SPECIFIC Active Office at Swansea University’s Bay Campus to capture the unique features of the building.
The two minute video helps to emphasise the skills and the expertise that are unique to this industry and how those skills can lead to tighter quality control and predictable outcomes – as well as the aesthetics that can be achieved through this method of construction.
The YouTube video was produced by the BSI for the ISO World Standards Day, which in 2018 put the spotlight on the ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’.
According to the BSI: ‘Offsite construction is helping to overcome significant challenges faced by the construction industry around productivity, project delivery and skills shortage. It decreases time spent on construction sites and overall cost-delivery.’
