Wernick Buildings are Wales at Work’s Business of the Week

1st March 2017

Wernick Buildings were selected by BBC Radio Wales’s Wales at Work to be their Business of the Week. On their show, broadcast on the 17th February, Buildings Managing Director Andy King was interviewed about the business.

Reporter Benjamin Wright visited the factory for a tour, and to learn more about the business. In his interview Andy explained modular construction, the history of the Wernick Group, and the benefits offered by offsite construction. He also talked about Wernick Group’s eagerness to keep growing, and expand into new sectors, such as modular housing.

When asked about the challenges facing the industry, Andy discussed the misconceptions surrounding modular construction; “We find it very difficult to change the perception that buildings are anything more than temporary classrooms. 30-40 years ago they predominantly were; but as times have changed and technology has moved on, modular buildings are very much now traditional permanent, design and build buildings.”
