2 MANAGEMENT COMMITMENT 2.1 The management team of Wernick Buildings understands that commitment and active involvement are essential for developing and maintaining an effective and efficient quality management system. Top management are committed to this understanding by:
3.1 MANAGING DIRECTOR As a member of the Executive Board, the Managing Director shares with other members their corporate responsibilities for the formulation of policy and for the overall control of the Company's operations and finances. In the absence of the Director who oversees Quality Assurance, the Managing Director assumes responsibility as Management Representative for quality. 3.2 DIRECTOR WHO OVERSEES QUALITY ASSURANCE The Director who is also the Contracts Director, is a member of the Executive Board. He/she is responsible for ensuring that the Company is producing the correct type of products for the market at the right price. To co-ordinate, plan and ensure execution of the Company's sales and promotional activities. These activities being compatible with the objectives of the Factory production and overall policy of the Board of Directors. He is also responsible for the Contracts Departments, covering all site activities. In addition, he is designated Management Representative for quality. As management representative he is responsible for ensuring that processes needed for the quality system are established, implemented and maintained as well as ensuring that customer requirements are promoted throughout the organization 3.3 FACTORY MANAGER The Factory Manager reports directly to the Managing Director. He/she is responsible for planning, managing and controlling the activities of the factory and appropriate support departments. In this role he/she is expected to liaise daily with his/her staff and other key personnel in the Company, as may be necessary. 3.4 DIVISIONAL MANAGERS Divisional Managers report to the Managing Director. They are generally members of the Management team and responsible for all activities in their division. They have direct responsibility for Sales, Technical Services, Quality Assurance, Contracts, Health and Safety and Training. Divisional Managers generally have a staff to handle these matters for them on a day-to-day basis. 3.5 REGIONAL MANAGERS Regional Managers report directly to the Managing Director. They are responsible and actively involved in all the operations in their region. These include Sales, Contracts, Quality Assurance, Health and Safety and Training. Regional Managers are given support as required from the Divisional Offices. 3.6 TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER/SENIOR TECHNICIANS The Technical Services Manager and Senior Technicians report directly to the Managing Director. They are responsible for managing, in an efficient manner, the activities of the Technical Services Department. In this role they must liaise daily with the Factory Manager, Contracts and Sales. 3.7 CONTRACTS MANAGERS Contracts Managers report on a day to day basis to their Divisional or Regional Manager, although the Contracts Director is in overall charge of their activities. They act as Contracts Managers for all buildings manufactured and installed by Wernick Buildings. They are responsible for co-ordinating factory deliveries with the site operations to meet Client requirements within allocated costings. In addition they are responsible for the placing of orders on sub-contractors and controlling their work through to completion. In this role they must liaise on a regular basis with the Factory Manager, Head of Technical Services/Technicians and Sales to ensure smooth running of each contract. 3.8 SALES OFFICE MANAGER The Sales office Manager is directly responsible to the Divisional Manager. He/she is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Sales Department, Estimating and Sales Representatives, ensuring that Wernicks response to enquiries is submitted timeously and in accordance with Clients' specifications. 3.9 BUYER The Buyer is directly responsible to the Factory Manager. He/she is responsible for the planning, co-ordinating and controlling of the administrative procedures necessary to successfully procure all materials required to progress a works order through to finished goods, in particular, ensuring that all those materials are available to production departments in good time. 4 Internal Communications 4.1 The senior management recognise that effective communication is conducive to an effective quality management system. To ensure that appropriate information is made available to relevant functions the following meetings are held on a regular basis:
