A great finish for Sure Start in Cornwall

Tasked with the job of building three Sure Start Children’s Centres in the Penzance area, Darren Willcocks of Truro based project management company Ward Williams Associates, soon realised that a conventional build solution wasn’t going to be an option.

As the sites at St Erth, Marazion and Pendeen were all on primary school property, overriding health and safety and childcare concerns restricted the build time. Therefore, modular solutions from Wernick Buildings were called for, as the factory built units could be delivered to the three sites while the schools were still open.

Things were further complicated by the fact that the sites could only be reached across adjacent fields. However despite all these restraints, excellent liaison between the schools, local farmers, Wernick and the Ward Williams teams mean the project went according to plan.
